Following a “Requires Improvement” rating from the Care Quality Commission in January 2020, the poor Public Satisfaction Survey for this year and the rise in complaints from patients who are waiting on the phone for three days and cannot get an appointment, the Surgery are about to commence a new way for patients to access our Services.
We want to encourage as many patients as possible to go to our website when they are in need of contacting the Surgery or the Doctors and use “EConsult”.
The more patients’ that use this way of contact will decrease phone calls into the Surgery. This will allow the Reception Team to reduce the wait on the line and have more time for people who cannot use the internet or do not have access to a computer, lap top or Mobile devices.
The aim is to increase accessibility to the Surgery, reduce long waits on the phone, cease patients having to phone for three days in a row and still not get an appointment; along with Doctors being able to see the forms submitted on line and respond by the end of the following day, unless weekends.
Doctors will have more control on seeing patients who need prioritising and not those just wanting an appointment.
The only differences to current routines is that the form you complete on our Website is a little longer and the Doctor will have more information and quicker; as well as being able on occasions to actually email you back direct with a solution.
We ask you please give this a try please, it starts on 3 December 2020.
