Important Message for our patients re opening from 19th July 2021

Thorpewood Medical Group

Main Front Entrance Door

With effect from Monday 19 July 2021, the Surgery will take the first steps in lifting the Government Covid 19 restrictions and will re-open the main entrance. You are reminded we are still in a pandemic. Coronavirus is still circulating in our Community and everyone needs to remain careful.

You should only attend the Surgery if you have an appointment. Please do not expect to just attend the Surgery with a general enquiry or to make an appointment, this will be refused. We remain committed to reducing the risk of infection to other patients and our staff.

Main Door – Entrance ONLY

Easy access/exit Door – Exit

Far Annexe Door – Exit ONLY

  • There will be signposts and members of staff to assist you with this.
  • Prescription Requests must still be placed in the post box please.
  • The needs for triage questions and temperature taking on entry are removed.

Infection Control rules means we will not have the “Self-Check In” to start. If this causes a problem with distancing and queuing, we will review, but this means you will have to sanitize hands and clean the screen per occasion.

We are asking all staff members and patients to continue to wear masks. Whilst it is not a legal requirement for patients to wear masks, based on this a healthcare setting and we need to maintain high levels of infection prevention and control; we are asking patients to continue to wear masks when they enter the Surgery please. If you are not wearing one, you will be asked to. Clearly if you are exempt, then please have your exemption card clearly visible.

I take the opportunity to remind everyone we have an NHS Zero Tolerance policy of poor behaviours. We have experienced foul and abusive language on an hourly basis for the past 15 months, threats of physical violence weekly and have had to have the Police out to us. Please do not attend to make an appointment, use the telephone, Footfall for enquiries or E Consult for a GP appointment.

As of 15 July, 10000 adult patients on our list have had the first Covid Vaccine and 8000 their second. Please help protect our community by making sure you have both Jabs.

Thank you for your understanding and hopeful cooperation.
